Well, i got a new phone for Christmas, one that takes pretty darn good pictures.

This month has been crazy! Sunday we had the chance to talk to Crae which was a perfect way to end Christmas day. I finished madelines present (phew) and have been hanging out with my super cool friends. I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas!

So this is me trying to catch up on my blogging.

Last month I ran in EVC (championships for cross country). It went very well. Our girls ended up winning 1st place over 8 schools and our boys came in 2nd. So proud of my team! I got 20th out of 130. I'm satisfied. Not to mention I ran into my super awesome friend, Tell. Good times!

We started a new tradition this year, thanks to aunt Shelby! Everyone had to participate in a family obstacle course. So much fun! Not to mention the food was heavenly. I love the holiday season! Makes me so happy.

I have been lucky these past two weekends, without a doubt. I have some of the coolest friends in the entire world who, no matter what we do, always make hanging out a memorable time. This weekend has been exceptionally great. Friday i was pretty productive which always puts me in a decent mood, Saturday i had club volleyball tryouts which went very well,then i went to the good ol' stake dance with teeny, kev and a few other good friends. Today has been probably my favorite day this weekend. I had the chance to hear my friends older brother, RJ give his homecoming talk. He just returned from his mission, where he served in Ecuador for two years. He gave a very spiritual, heartfelt talk that made me miss my missionary. and of course to end the sabbath, a science project which i totally finished in less than an hour. please girl. :)

And i definitely attended the T-Swift concert with the coolest sister in the world. Taylor Swift rocked it, hands down. She is stunning and very talented! Her opening act was David Nail who is also very gifted. It was an amazing night!

If you know me, you know i love horses. Like, a lot. If I see a horse with a saddle, even if it's not my horse, I’d totally ask if I could ride it. An awesome family in my ward owns a few horses and invited my family out to ride. It was a blast! Towards the end I started trotting and running the horse. So much fun!

It's official, i am a slacker. I can surely tell you that because i havent been busy at all, therefore, i'm too lazy to sit down and blog. *palmface. Anyways, this break hasnt been what i thought it would be like. For goodness sake, madge and i made a stinking bucket list for break and we've probably checked off three things. pa-thetic. Here's what my days have been like; wake up, sit around, text people and find out what the plan is for that day, plan something last minute, doesn't work out, screwed, by the time we find something to do it's time to go home. We'll see what this upcoming week has in store for Olivia.

Another note:

Do you ever just sit down and think? That's one thing you probably don't know about me, i think over my head. One thing that i always worry about is...da da DA...my self esteem. I freak out about what I'm going to look like in high school and i always compare myself to other girls. It's an annoying habit of mine that i absolutely do not enjoy. What i DON'T notice is that I'm healthy, I'm 14 and running 6 miles no big deal, I'm tall and i have muscle. I don't understand myself sometimes, and it's hard for me to believe other people, possibly because of things others have said to me. This habit is going to change. It's not making me happy and it's sure not helping me.

The parents took our missionary to the MTC yesterday and I’ve been playing "momma" for two days. It's super entertaining! I hate being alone at home without Maggie and Cap. But she'll be home in a bit :) love my siblings!

I made a goal at the beginning of this year that I would work hard to be able to run 4 miles without wanting to die. I ran all summer, I ran all through volleyball, I ran my first race, and I’m still running till this day. It has definitely grown on me, thanks to my bomb diggity sister. I have gotten used to waking up at 5:30-6 on Saturday mornings and going for a run or doing some conditioning. I'm proud that a 14 year old, who is super busy with other sports, is still finding time to beat her goal and work hard to stay in shape. Sometimes I don't feel like it’s working, or doing anything for me, but it is. And I’m proud of myself.

I'm back, and ready to blog.

2 or 3 weeks ago, my family went to Big Lake to camp. The weather was incredibly durable and it was a very relaxing time. It felt good escaping from reality. I always love being with my family, even if my attitude doesn't show it, i do love it. The sight was just breathtaking. It was rainy and there were grey clouds everywhere. We sat around the camp fire as a family and sang songs and told jokes (Brian Reagan was the main act.) We had a very good time.

I ran my first 5k this weekend! And the best part was that I ran it with my awesome sister.

We were supporters of Ovarian Cancer and it felt overwhelming to cross the finish line for them. I'm anxious/nervous to be working up to our half marathon! I might just die.

My best friend is 15 today! Madeline is such an example to everyone, including myself. She know's how to have fun and when there's an appropriate time to be serious. I will never forget the times she has helped me or even gone to my very first stake dance with me. She is amazing. I've known her almost my whole life and I've watched her grow into the amazing young women she is today. I'm so blessed to have her apart of my life.

To my Teeny, Thank you for being so remarkable and screaming into a pillow with me ;) You have been such a supportive best friend and i love going to you for everything. You're finally 15! You can make it one more year...16 is right around the corner. Please come home quick so we can spend tomorrow together and party! Thanks again for everything and being such a sweet girl.

Sunday was an amazing day, long, but amazing!

Sunday night we had Bishops Youth Discussion at my house. We had a visitor from another ward come and talk about Choice and Accountability. He told a story about his rough past and how it lead him down the wrong path. He did an outstanding job and presented a very good lesson.

PS- none of the young men wanted to participate in the pictures, so, being the amazing ladies they are i got some snaps of them OH and the Goff boys:)

Clearly drinking wasn't enough for Mitchel before his performance. He decided to get high. Super smart of him, right? No. I can guarantee that he lost several fans, myself included. His music stinks beyond belief. All he does is scream, and i hate screamo music. AND he's probably my 9 year old brothers size.

I kind of, sort of, disgust change. Then again I know it can be a good thing. This year is so much different from last year. I play Volleyball for my school and I'm adjusting to my new coach and all the girls on my team. It's already been a brutal season. The eighth graders who are now freshman left, people changed and it's just now starting to sink in. I have a wide age range of friends. Many in my school, some are new freshman, multiple sophomores and a bunch of juniors. I think being friends with numerous age groups is a good thing. It prepares you for how you need to act in high school (mature wise) and things you need to avoid. But then again, all those people are true friends and I love them dearly. Anyways, my point to this meaningless summary is to tell you that I hate change…but I'm going to make it through this year with a smile on my face and straight A's. High school is right around the corner, and I'm so excited.

It's all still so surreal to me..being in 8th grade and adjusting to being the oldest once again.

I turn 14 next Friday and oh boy is time moving fast. I need to slow myself down and appreciate this life. I still get those comments, "Olivia! You're finally a freshman!" ohhh yeah, no I'm not. darnit. But its okay, this year is a year of education for me. I'm working towards those straight A's again.

First day of school...how do you describe it? Tiresome.

My teachers are solid, but also hard-workers.

I miss Ms.Thuer and Mr.Olson.

He can weigh being Bishop and having a job all at the same time and it's just mind-blowing to watch him succeed at both. He's taught my family and I so much. What time do you start your day?

This morning has been fan-freaking-tastic, all thanks to my awesome sister, Savannah.

I've mentioned in numerous posts about my 1/2 marathon that I'm running in November and we finally kicked off our training this week. whoop whoop! I ran a total of 14 miles this week and let me tell you, it feels gooooood. We woke up this morning around 5 (to beat the heat of course) and we ended up running a total of 5.11. Not to shabby at all. Came home, did some yoga, ate some healthy/tasty pancakes (pancakes are for champions) and now I'm about to go get some laundry done. Ahhh I'm feeling excited for today!

the call

I've been waiting for a coherent time to blog about Craes mission call. I think it's about time.

Crae's mission call layed around at home for a whole week and a half why we were on the East Coast. It was nerve-racking for both my family and Crae. At one point my mom just wanted to pry it open and call Crae and tell him where he is going but, we all know that is not how it works. So, that being said, poor Crae knew for a whole week that his call was waiting for him at home and we were far away on the East Coast!

The Sunday came. It was time for Crae Chandler Kleinlein to open his mission call. The first brother of the Kleinlein kids to go on a mission. This was senseless yet so comforting. The family stacked in the house, loud, anxious, and a bit teary eyed. They were all there to support Crae. Everybody got a pin with tape that had their name on it; they used that to pin where they predicted my brother would go. It was crazy to see how many areas allow missionaries to serve!

Here it is; we're on the phone with Aunt Natalie and Craes’ WestPoint host family, the Gerbers.

At this point he starts to read and tears fall down everybody’s face.

Elder Crae Kleinlein has been called to serve in the Philippines, San Pablo Mission. Tagalog speaking. He reports September 28th 2011.

This is my favorite day of the week, Sunday. It’s every Sunday that I constantly come home wanting to set higher goals and strive to be more like my heavenly father. Today, in young womens, the spirit was unquestionably in our presence. Sis. Muraski always gives the most remarkable, heart-felt lessons..and without further or do, I’m going to share her lesson with you before i forget. (Because i will forget)

*The topic for today was obedience*

What i got out of this message is that we don't have to do what someone tells us to do, we choose what we want to do, we are not forced. But if we choose intelligently and listen to our parents, teachers, leaders, etc. we will be blessed. In order to return to our heavenly father we need to be obedient throughout our life. Nobody is perfect, everyone makes mistakes, but every mistake whether big or small has a consequence; a consequence you cannot choose.

The picture below gives an analogy of obedience that Sis.Muraski gave.

She said:

Our life is like a maze, not simple, at all. We go through encounters and sometimes we don't make the best choices. We have NO idea where we are going to go in life. We may know who we want to be when we grow older, how many kids we want or where we want to go to college, but we have absolutely no understanding of who we will marry or what trials we will face later on or in the near future. Heavenly father knows everything. He sees our plan; he knows the rights and lefts we need to take in order to return to him. He won't lead us to a dead end as long as we strive to be like him and obey his commandments.

Think about your actions and elect wisely. Nobody is perfect, but we can control what lefts and rights we choose to take in our life.

I've always wanted to blog about this...but i never did because i knew my blog wasn't private and i didn't want strangers reading about my self-image and things i need be better at. But, now i'm private and all the people i allowed to read my blog know me, and hopefully know that this all comes from the heart and things i have learned growing up.

Study the picture below, does any of that sound familiar? Do you often find yourself putting yourself down? I'm not too bad about the whole self esteem, but i definitely know I've caught myself saying these phrases more then once...

I'll tell you what my biggest self-image issue is:

I'm 13 and i'll be 14 in August, i'm an 8th grader, a tall athletic 8th grader. I'm going to be completely honest with you. I find myself always complaining about how girls in my grade or even older have the "perfect" bodies or the "perfect" smile, etc etc. I find myself worrying about my weight a lot too. Sometimes i look in the mirror and wish to have that flat/tan stomach. Then i realize that i'm thankful for what my heavenly father has given me. I'm beautiful in my own way; everyone is.

The world is difficult, you see magazines, commercials, movies, etc where girls/boys are just perfect. They are completely worry-free. But, thats not true. Look at the video below. They go through hours of editing in making the model look absolutely stunning, when in real life, she's beautiful in her/his own way.

Call me cheesy, but a year or so ago i went to a self-image fireside for young women and their mothers. I learned that when you judge someone it's normally just because you're trying to make yourself look better. That's when being yourself and being thankful for who you are falls in play.

When you wake up in the morning, do everything you can to make yourself look nice, but when you leave the door forget yourself and serve others.

Today i miss Reed. He moved to Colorado at the end of our 6th grade year and i haven't seen the boy since. He was the reason i loved going to middle school! But now, he is a big 8th grader and lives in Colorado. His family is amazing and his sister is the strongest girl you will ever meet! (the shirt I'm wearing tells it all) No worries, he's coming down in August. I'll get to see my buddy soon! He's awesome.

Well it's midnight and I'm currently sitting on the computer...shocker. I feel like I've been a slacker lately...I blame it all on ridiculous Facebook. Anyways, i feel like I've already completed my Summer; so many amazing things have already happened!!

1.) I'm an 8th grader

2.) I traveled through 7 different states

3.) I met Sam Tsui (!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)

4.) Scotty won American Idol

5.) I painted my toenails (haven't done that in f0rever)

6.) I got to be in the same setting as Sam Tsui

7.) Starting tomorrow i'm eating healthy

and well, MY BROTHER GOT HIS MISSION CALL!! He has been called to serve in the Philippines, San Pablo Mission, Tagalog speaking. I mean, are you freaking out or is it just me?!

Ahhhh my brother is going to be such an amazing missionary :)

And you know what else? Tonight i met some amazing people! no big deal.

I have something to share

Today, after i was rushing to my 5th hour and finally got settled a young, cute, Hispanic girl grabbed me by the arm and spoke a few sentences in Spanish. I gave her a dazzled look. What the stinking crap was she saying to me? She simply changed her language and said, "I've been watching you in PE class, i want to be like you someday. Everyone thinks you are so kind and i always tell them that you're my example. And i just wanted to thank you." She slowly grabbed my hand and thanked me in Spanish for the second time. Now, that, i understood. I gave her the biggest hug ever and thanked her for pulling me aside and spoiling me with those sweet words. I also think i thanked her a thousand times. it made me smile.

I didn't post this to brag; i posted this to let you know that there's someone out there that looks up to you. So, be yourself and try your hardest. It pays off in the end. Especially when a young, Innocent girl pulls you aside in the hallway.

Guess what! Guess what! Guess what! Me, Olivia Kleinlein, being a 13- year old girl did TWO girls hair for prom. I am so proud of myself and most definitely couldn't deny the offer! They both looked stunning, not just because of the hair, but the whole outfit itself. I sadly didn't take any pictures of my first client, Kayla but, i got Mackenzie in there! She just wanted it all simple and she still looked breath taking. I enjoyed every bit of it!

If you ever need me to do your hair, makeup, etc...let this girl know! I would be more than happy :)

Letters from home

Well, this week is my last week of school before i travel to my sisters graduation. I'm sad and happy at the same time.I hate the whole learning deal, but the seeing my friends at school everyday part just makes me so happy..and to know that all my 8th grade friends are going to High School next year makes me want to eat lots of Ice Cream and ball my eyes out. But it's all good because i get to go live in the East Coast for a whole week. (i can tell you're jealous)

There's always those 'certain' people who make you want to wake up and go to school everyday,and live life, right? well, those are the ones I'm going to miss the most. Obviously, a majority of them are people i'm close to or maybe just see around. That being said, I just want to say a few things......

Could he be anymore laid back? it's ridiculous. I think his class is the easiest to ace, make new friends in, crack jokes, embarrass yourself, etc etc. He's taught me SO much, not only about Social Studies, but just life. He wants us to be the best we can be and it totally shows. He wont say anything mean to anyone or give them a nasty look about anything. He's taught me so much and I've loved having him as a teacher.

Alright, can't forget this lil' feller. I may talk about this boy a lot, but, it's because he's my best friend. He makes me laugh until I'm laying on the floor laughing. I don't see why anyone would not like this boy? He has gotten me through SO much and i wish i could pay him back for everything he's done for me. I honestly couldn't ask for a better friend.

I know we suffer from a 12 year age difference and she's married, but she's seriously like an older sister to me. I love her and her family so much. We sat and talked last night and I've learned things I've never learned and things that i need to look out for in the future. I couldn't ask for a better friend/sister than her.

Get this, i rarely talk to his boy, but he's super good friends with my friends and we've hung out more than once. He's amazing and very talented! He treats people with respect and is friends with everyone. I probably sound like the biggest stalker, but, i just think he should know that people look up to him and that if he keeps doing what he's doing he's set.

This is another one of my best friends. He's taught me so much! I can't tell you enough how much we've both grown and all the great experiences we've had together. He's such a sweet and outgoing boy and i'm going to dread seeing him leave to High School. Love you Nater!
